Liza Connolly and Lori Deliso, Kids Cooking GreenLiza Connolly (left) is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College with a B.A. in Psychology and of Cambridge School Of Culinary Arts.  She cooked alongside Todd English, at both Michela's and Olives, for 5 years.  Inspired by his bold and creative Italian palate, she spent  a year and a half  living and cooking in Italy.  There, her love and understanding of  the simple flavors of the season, the beauty of a meal well cooked and intimately shared, brought her passion for food and cooking full circle.

Prior to having two children, Liza was the Chef at Davio's Restaurant for three years.  Liza is an active volunteer in the Lexington community.  She organized the "Bridge School International Cookbook", the profits from which support another of her projects: a vegetable garden at the same elementary school.

For the  Lexington Farmers' Market, she has contributed original recipes for the website and currently seeks new farmers and vendors.  Liza met her like-minded partner, Lori, at the LFM. The inspiration for Kids Cooking Green sprouted from the desire to help children benefit more directly from the market. They are passionate about teaching children the value of being a part of a community and making choices about the foods they eat and how that affects their health, as well as the environment. Contact Liza via email: liza@kidscookinggreen.com

Lori Deliso is one of the co-founders of the Lexington Farmers’ Market overseeing daily operations of the market as well as co-chair of the Kids Cooking Green program, with Liza Connolly.  Lori  has been teaching cooking classes to children aged 7-13  for several years in after school programs in Lexington and surrounding towns.

Lori has two children of her own, and over 20 years of practical experience running a food business. Lori is part owner, with her husband David Jick, of Dave’s Fresh Pasta shop, in Somerville, Mass. She enjoys sharing her love of  food, culture, and cooking with children and their families.

Lori is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and the New England
Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont.

The collaboration of The Lexington Farmers Market and the Kids Cooking Green program is an exceptional opportunity  for Lori to complete a full circle of education with children about the importance of  local food, farming, nutrition and the value of sitting down with family and friends and eating a meal together.
